Question by greg_novella: What is the medical term for my allergy?
I?m allergic to alcoholic beverages, I get itchy rashes on my hands, the stronger the beverage the worst the allergy, for example, if I drink one bottle of beer, my allergies last for one to two days, but if I drink vodka, the allergies last for at least one week, so because of this I stopped drinking?
Is there a medical term for my allergy so I can research about it?

If it?s a true allergy it would just be considered and alcohol allergy, without anything more specific. Apparently alcohol itself is a rare allergen, but is possible, but more likely that it?s something else in it.
